The Goldsmith prides itself on a rich 60 year history. Now owner, Sherry Bender, apprenticed under the original owner Don Lawrence, when The Goldsmith was moved from Walton Street to Water Tower in the mid '70s. After 30 plus years at Water Tower, it was time to make the glamorous leap to 900 N Michigan Ave where the pace and clientele was parallel with the caliber of The Goldsmith.

Bender has owned The Goldsmith and been their lead designer for the last 30 years.

In 2025, she transitioned from a physical location at 900 N Michigan Avenue to a private design studio, still creating and available by appointment.
